We are
always looking for people interested in becoming a member of Legio XI,
Clavdia Pia Fidelis.
Who Can Join?
We invite anyone interested in the history of Ancient Rome to
participate as Legionaries and even as civilian auxiliaries!
Having said this, members must
be able to dedicate enough time to participate and make a contribution
to the goals of Legio XI. Making/improving the accuracy
of our gear,
preparing for events, etc, all require time and effort to do
well.
Re-enactment can be a very rewarding, educational and FUN
experience -- but that experience can only be enriched by members
who participate.
Membership
is not restricted by geography. If you live in another state or
even
country, you are still welcome to join us although we do expect you to
be available to participate in Legion events as time and distance
allow.
Benefits of Joining
There are several benefits accrued by becoming a milites.
First and foremost, we have fun and enjoy each
others' company while learning about the history of Rome in general
and its Army's operations and living conditions
specifically.
Second, we learn a wide variety of skills (metal, leather, and
wood working) as we make and/or improve each others' kit.
We
achieve these benefits primarily through the monthly workshops where we
focus on helping new recruits (and members) make/improve their own
gear. Our goal will be to outfit you as inexpensively and
accurately
as possible in the shortest possible time. The Centurio is almost
always available on a weekend to help with gear -- how fast you get it
done is up to you.
Our members are close friends and we have a great time when we get
together.

To join we need a completed application and membership dues for
the first year ($25). Please contact the
